Aditya Dhar

Aditya Dhar (born 12 March 1983) is an Indian director, screenwriter, producer and lyricist who works in Hindi cinema. He made his directorial debut with the 2019 war film Uri: The Surgical Strike, which was a critical and commercial success, becoming the 4th highest-grossing Indian film of the year and earning Dhar the National Film Award for Best Direction. He then directed the Dhurandhar series (2025-2026), a spy action thriller duology; both films in the series emerged as being among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, earning Dhar widespread recognition across the Indian film industry. Dhar’s films are known for their nationalistic themes, which have divided critics; commentators have contrastingly described his works as patriotic or jingoistic.
