Rights are split by territory
Digital rights are frequently sold separately for India and overseas, to different platforms. A film available on one service in India may be on an entirely different one in Canada or the UK, and neither platform has any incentive to tell you about the other.
This is why recommendations from friends abroad so often lead nowhere.
Metadata is poor
Punjabi titles are inconsistently catalogued. Transliteration varies — the same film may be listed under two or three spellings. Language tags are frequently wrong, with Punjabi films filed as Hindi. Release years are sometimes the production year rather than the release year.
The result is that platform search fails even when the film is present in the catalogue. Searching a lead actor’s name often works better than searching the title.
Catalogues rotate quietly
Licensing deals expire. A film available last month may be gone this month with no announcement, and third-party availability trackers lag by weeks on regional content because their data sources prioritise larger markets.
Smaller platforms are invisible to aggregators
Several services carrying substantial Punjabi catalogues are not indexed by the major “where to watch” tools. If you rely on those tools exclusively, a meaningful portion of the available content simply does not appear to exist.
Practical advice
Search the original title and the transliterated title. Search a lead performer rather than the film. Check regional Punjabi services directly rather than through an aggregator. And check the film’s own social accounts, which usually announce streaming availability even when nobody else does.

It is incomplete and will stay incomplete — this data changes constantly and nobody maintains a reliable public source. Corrections from readers are genuinely useful here, and there is a link on every film page to send one.
